Development
The first PlayStation was created in 1994.
PS2 came out in 2000 and sold over 155 million sets as of October 2012. It’s the best selling home game consoles to date.
PS3 was released in 2006. And PS4 will be available later this year.
These days PlayStation has to compete with Nintendo’s Wii U and Switch, and also Microsoft’s Xbox One for the game consoles market.
The “eight generation” mentioned at beginning of the post refers to the development of video game consoles in general and not just by Sony.
